Troy Night Out: A downtown Troy evening of arts and culture with food, libation, shopping and entertainment. Held the last Friday of every month 5-9pm, year-round. Spring
CanalFest: The official annual opening of the New York State Canal featuring crafts, entertainment, hayrides and boat rides. Held in Waterford the second weekend in May. Capital District Garden & Flower Show: Annual three-day event held in March at Hudson Valley Community College, Troy. Features garden and flower exhibits, vendors, educational exhibits and more. Troy Flag Day Parade: The largest parade in the nation that honors the American Flag. Held the weekend before the official national observance of Flag Day. River Street Festival: An annual event in June, this festival features an arts and craft show, antiques and multiple musical acts. Held on River Street, downtown Troy. SummerRockin' on the River: Free outdoor concert series that takes place along the Hedley District Riverfront in Troy, Wednesday nights from 5-8pm Powers Park Concert Series: Weekend activities and concerts at the Powers Park Gazebo in Lansingburgh, festivities begin at 6pm. Schaghticoke Fair: The Rensselaer County Fair featuring food, rides, animals, and exhibits. Begins Wednesday before Labor Day through the weekend. Waterford Tugboat Roundup: Weekend after Labor Day each year, Waterford's historic waterfront is transformed back into a rendering of its commercial heyday. Tugs new and old moor stem to stern for enchanting the young and reminding the young at heart of days gone by. Troy Chowderfest: Held in August in downtown Troy, area chefs battle it out for the best chowder recipe in the Capital Region. Enjoy chowders, drinks and activities. FallA Taste of Rensselaer County: Annual dinner featuring a special menu prepared with farm products grown on Rensselaer County farms. Showcases local produce and agriculture. Held at Goold Orchards. Annual Apple Festival & Craft Show: An annual celebration of arts, culture and agriculture with crafters, dancers and musicians. Apple picking and sampling, snacks and wine tasting. Held at Goold Orchards on Columbus Day weekend. Uncle Sam Parade & Celebration: A two-day event in September in Lansingburgh. A celebration of patriotism and citizen recognition with an annual graveside ceremony at the grave of "Uncle Sam" Wilson, Citizen of the Year banquet, Parade and Celebration at Knickerbocker Park. Troy Turkey Trot: One of the largest road races in the Capital District area held Thanksgiving morning. Celebrate Thanksgiving with a brisk walk, jog, or run with family and friends in downtown Troy. WinterAnnual Holiday Greens Show: Presented by the Rensselaer County Historical Society and The Van Rensselaer Garden Club. Step back in time and enjoy a stunning holiday display in the historic 1827 Hart-Cluett House in Troy. The show coincides with the day of the Troy Victorian Stroll. Rensselaer County Winter Festival: Celebrate winter with a variety of outdoor activities and exhibits. Held at Grafton Lakes State Park. Troy Victorian Stroll: With over 100 venues and attractions, the Troy Victorian Stroll is a celebration of the holiday season featuring music, entertainment and shopping. Underwritten by area businesses and coordinated by The Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Held 10 days after Thanksgiving. |
